About NEP Prep
NEP Prep Basketball Club is a year-round NE Portland, OR based basketball club that focuses on the development of players both on and off the court.
We currently have 17 operating teams and pride ourselves on the passion each of us coaches share when it comes to the growth of our youth. Players who are a part of NEP Prep will start out at the recreational level as young children, and slowly work their way up to the competitive level as they get older. Our goal is to take any kid, regardless of skill or family financial issues, and get them to the level where they can confidently play in high school. Within this process not only will they become skilled players, but they’ll also learn how to be a part of a team, the importance of school as an athlete, the importance of mental health as an athlete, how to play with class, and other things that will help them throughout their day-to-day lives. We feel that we have created a great balance between having fun, developing skills, and teaching the game.
By having this balance we’re able to keep our players as engaged as possible, even at young ages, and help them to develop a natural love for the game of basketball.

Personal Bio
I was born and raised in Northeast Portland and have always loved the game of basketball. I began my journey of youth development in the Winter of 2021 when I became an assistant teacher at The Ivy Montessori School. Throughout my first year I would often play basketball with the kids at recess because they didn’t have many players. Towards the end of the year myself and Adrian, one of our current coaches, had the idea of starting a school basketball team. By the 2022/23 school year we decided to make the announcement and over the next few months basketball exploded in popularity at The Ivy School.
Being someone who’s very passionate about basketball and coaching, I decided to continue the program year-round instead of just “basketball season”. From here we continued to grow adding kids at a fast rate.
In the summer of 2023 I began working with SE Portland Girls Basketball Club, a club very similar to ours but based in Southeast Portland. Through this program I’d get many opportunities to coach at camps and clinics while also still coaching my teams in tournaments. I would also work around many amazing coaches that I was able to learn a lot from and implement some of their strategies into my own coaching. I currently still work as an assistant teacher at The Ivy School, volunteer with SE Portland Girls Basketball Club, and coach teams myself, while also being the director of NEP Prep Basketball Club. In my free time I enjoy playing/watching basketball, spending time with friends, designing clothing, and getting lots of rest.
